I heart La Crosse and exploring the Perrot State Park is one of my favorite in Wisconsin.
We were hiking from the north end which is shorter but much steeper. The trail up to Brady’s bluff goes through sensitive natural areas that have beautiful old cedar, it was shaded most part.
The hike to the top is worth it. The view from the top is breathtaking, I enjoyed the winding of the trail leading you up to the bluffs to view the Mississippi River, the trail is short, and it’s family-friendly but I highly encouraged parents to bring harnesses if they are not going to carry little ones, the trail gets narrow, you can’t keep your eye of the little hikers.
Keep an eye on interesting areas, we didn’t experience too many bugs or mosquitoes but always bring a bug spray.
My daughter insisted on walking halfway on our way back, which was great, we like it when she hikes most of every place we explore.
Amazing view!
The trail gets narrow!
She is such an Adventure baby, but oh well she fell once I looked away!
The view!
We love this park and wished we lived in the area.
The bluffs!
This was an amazing day to be outdoors exploring, we meet other great outdoor families on this hike and celebrated hike it baby’s 5th birthday. We have been with the hike it baby family since April 2015 and we love our tribe, it’s amazing how we keep meeting people everywhere and making friends everywhere we go. But most of all I enjoy these adventures when I travel with my family.
Warning ⚠️ Be ready for stairs but they are worth it for the view! pretty steep but a well-maintained trail with plenty of steps. and the elevation is over 1400ft. Make sure you bring lots of water for this hike, take your time and enjoy nature, when you reach the top, take a much-needed break.
The trail is inside the parrot state park so you will need a Wisconsin state sticker to park.
Daily quote;
Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don’t wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how precious is the time you have to spend, whether it’s at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored. Earl Nightingale
