Why Adventure Friends Matter
Having friends who love adventures is important. They will be there when you want to climb mountains or visit amazing places like Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. They cheer you on as you face challenges and reach your goals.
If you have friends who enjoy early morning hikes and exciting trips, hold on to them! I appreciate the special bond we share. Together, you can do great things and make unforgettable memories. These adventure friends are like a breath of fresh air in a busy world.

Our Hike on the Ice Age Trail
We started our hike at 6:00 AM to cover 14 miles on the Ice Age Trail. Seeing the sunrise was magical; the mist covered the bluffs in our view. We began early to avoid the heat and the crowds.
The trail was a mix of rocky and muddy spots, and we encountered some bugs as we approached the park. I highly recommend wearing waterproof hiking boots because you never know what you might run into on these trails.
We stopped for a brief break at the Devil Doorway and took some group pictures to make memories. Continuing on the trail, we enjoyed the beautiful lake view on the north side. When we reached the north side, the park was filling up, and the line at the entrance was unbelievable by 10:00 AM.
This was a great chance for the group to refill our water bottles, use the restrooms, and recharge for another climb on the west bluff. This whole loop is not recommended for beginners because it includes steep stair climbs. You might feel exhausted halfway through if you’re not in good shape.
When we got to the south side, we decided to walk on the road because of the heat and the crowd. This would help us avoid further delays. Ultimately, we reached 12 miles by the parking lot, which was still great mileage for our training hike.

Getting Ready for My Trek in Peru
I am so excited! I will be going on a trek in Peru in just two weeks. Training has been tough sometimes, but I feel ready now. In 2024, my climb in Peru has a special goal. I want to raise money to build digital libraries in schools in South Africa that need help. Education is very important, and providing access to digital resources can help students learn better. Learn more about this mission and donate.
