Natural Bridge State Park

Discover the natural wonder of Wisconsin’s Natural Bridge State Park, home to a unique sandstone arch carved by wind and water. With hiking trails suitable for all ages and skill levels, this hidden gem offers breathtaking landscapes and stunning fall foliage, making it the perfect destination for families, couples, and solo travelers. Join us to explore the park’s trails and facilities in this blog post.

Wisconsin has so many state parks that we are not even halfway to finishing them; we must work on this bucket list.

We visited Natural Bridge State Park and took on the easy path with our toddler, which is a 0.8-mile round trip with an uphill climb to the top, rocks to climb, and explore on top, all amidst the colorful fall leaves. The natural bridge is just around the corner, and my daughter was able to hike at her own pace. I highly recommend this trail; it’s also great for families and fun for toddlers.

The parking lot offers excellent views and is perfect for adults to stretch their legs. You can take two ways to hike here: attempt the 1.5-mile loop if you are up for a long hike without kids, or head straight to the bridge. The park has a vast parking lot, easy-to-find trailhead, and restrooms located next to the parking lot. It’s open year-round from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

How to get there?

Directions: Natural Bridge State Park is about 0.75 miles east of the village of Leland on County Highway C in Sauk County. From the east: Take U.S. Highway 12 south from Baraboo or north from Sauk City to County Highway C. Go west on Highway C about 10 miles to the park. A parking lot and picnic area are just off County Highway C. Geographic coordinates are 43° 20′ 36.7″ N, 89° 55′ 56.6″ W.
Fees: you need a vehicle sticker (Wisconsin state sticker)
