This past weekend, my family and we embarked on a unique adventure in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Our trip was a delightful blend of activities, delectable food, and breathtaking scenery. We started our journey by immersing ourselves in the festive spirit of Whispering Pines, a charming retreat hosting a one-of-a-kind Christmas in July event.

Hiking at Perrot State Park
We awoke at the family-friendly Whispering Pines on Saturday morning and set off for Perrot State Park. With kid-friendly trails and stunning natural beauty, this park was the perfect setting for our family hike.

Cooling Off at Pearl Street Brewery
After our invigorating hike, we decided to cool off at Pearl Street Brewery. The relaxed atmosphere and variety of craft beers were perfect for unwinding. We sampled their signature Pearl Street Pale Ale, a refreshing treat that brought us comfort and enjoyment after a day on the trails.
Christmas in July at Whispering Pines
Returning, we were immersed in the joy and excitement of the festive Christmas in July activities. The kids were over the moon with holiday-themed games and treats. The cozy cabins provided a perfect setting for relaxation after our adventurous day.
Family-Friendly Dining
For dinner, we discovered a treasure trove of kid-friendly places in La Crosse. One that stood out was Fayze’s Restaurant and Bakery. This culinary gem, renowned for its hearty comfort food and warm, inviting atmosphere, was a perfect fit for our family. The kids were overjoyed with the mac and cheese while we savored the famous Bloody Marys, a signature offering that added a unique twist to our dining experience. We highly recommend this restaurant.
