Door creek Orchard

We went out to check this nearby farm, I learned about this farm from moms blog Madison. It is 20 min away from sun prairie which is where we are based currently in Wisconsin. 10 minutes from Madison and a little over 1 hour from Milwaukee. Unfortunately, they are closing this weekend due to the high temperatures.

Door creek orchard is a great place for families and toddlers, there is plenty of parking and overflow. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. There is a nature trail for the little ones leading to the pond. Across the street that’s where we went to pick the apples and grapes, they have a barn check out the sheep and goats by the entrance, and pretty wildflowers. They have lots of wagons to use for free.

This was a beautiful day to be out picking apples, my daughter had a blast picking all kinds of apples from the tree, and eating them felt like paradise to her.

Door Creek Orchard currently has 88 bearing varieties of apples, modern and heirloom, which ripen from July through November. Let me just say I had no freaken idea there were so many varieties of apples in this world, seriously I grow up eating a green and red apple that’s it, I’m so lucky that I get to spend time with my daughter and she is super lucky to have a mom who introduces her to great things like this in life, we both learn from each other every day.

This is a great farm I highly recommend it to the families. I will share the address below and great pictures.
