I went for a hike today and felt a strong urge to reconnect with nature and with you. The cozy season is here. For some people, it’s peaceful. For others, it can feel slow and a bit lonely when it gets dark so early. If that’s how you think, I understand.
The good news is that our weekly hikes offer more than just a walk in the park. They are a chance to reset, connect, and improve your mental health. The best part? They are free, low-pressure, and open to everyone. If you want to enjoy the outdoors or find a new winter hobby, we’d love to have you join us. So why take the first step and join us this Winter?
Last month, I took part in the Ice Age Trail Mammoth Challenge, aiming for 40 miles but completing 48.2. This experience allowed me to explore the whole segment because I had been taking shortcuts and hiking tons of trails with friends, encountering familiar faces each week, and sharing stories that kept me motivated. I also enjoyed local businesses offering discounts for mentioning the challenge.
As someone who typically avoids challenges due to [insufficient funds and peer pressure], I found this one rewarding and fun. I highly recommend signing up for next year; you won’t regret it!
I enjoy how these hikes bring new people together. Each time, I meet someone new, hear a fresh story, and learn where people come from and where they are going. This connection is healing. It shows me why I keep going back to the same State parks and trails in Wisconsin. Each season feels different, and that’s the magic of it.
Disclaimer: I am not a professional guide or tour guide. These hikes are informal community meetups for people who love getting outside. By joining, you acknowledge you are hiking at your own risk. I do not provide first aid and am not responsible for injuries, accidents, or lost/damaged property during these hikes.
