Twenty Minutes a Day: September Group Hikes in Wisconsin, and Peru 2027 Is Live

This week I asked you not to do much.

You Went Slow This Week. That Counts.

No summits. No big goals. The kids went back to school, the calendar got loud, and the most useful thing you could do for yourself was twenty minutes outside. That was it.

And so many of you did it. Walks around the block. Lunch breaks outside. Twenty minutes squeezed in before pickup. That counts — it is not “less than.” Twenty minutes a day is a body that keeps moving. Well done.

To every family finding their rhythm again: I am rooting for you. Take the deep breath. It has been a lot.

Sunday, September 6: Holy Hill on the Ice Age Trail

8:00 AM — meeting at the Holy Hill main parking lot. Ice Age Trail, 7–9 miles.

It is going to be a hot one. Beautiful day otherwise, but the heat is real, so come prepared: lots of water, hiking poles, and a good attitude.

We are not going to fight Mother Nature out there. If we run out of shade, we will find another way to stay cool. We move at the pace the group needs.

Saturday, September 12: Eighteen Miles at Governor Dodge State Park

We are tackling the horse trail — 18 miles, and this is not our first time on it. We are ending this one the right way: sauna and cold plunge.

Want in? Email me at wiadventurefamily@gmail.com and I will send you the meeting location.

Saturday, September 26: Sun Prairie Multicultural Fair

11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Sun Prairie Public Library. I will have a booth. Save the date and come say hi — I would love to see your face. Full event details here.

The Fall Retreat on October 2 Is Full

To be clear about which one: the Fall Retreat starting October 2 is now full. If you went to register and found the link deactivated, that is why — not a broken link on your end. Thank you, truly. It filled fast.

Stay tuned. More opportunities are coming, and one of them is right below.

And One More Thing: Peru, June 2027

I have never once made it through a hike without someone asking me if I am going back to Peru. It has been the question since I came home in 2025.

Here is the answer: June 15–25, 2027. Twelve women. Cusco, the Inca Trail on foot to Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain at dawn, and Inti Raymi — the Festival of the Sun — on our last full day.

This trip exists because you kept asking.

Twelve spots. Registration closes November 1, 2026.

See you Sunday.
