On May 2nd, I decided to take a much-needed mental health break. This break wasn’t triggered by any specific mental health issue but was instead a proactive step to maintain my overall well-being. By disconnecting from all my social media accounts, I aimed to reconnect with nature and find peace in my space. I started an organic garden in my backyard, a sanctuary where I could cultivate plants and my mental health.
Breaking Away from the Scroll Society
I am breaking away from the scroll society because nothing makes sense. I refuse to spend another minute consuming, restocking content, and unboxing; it’s not real life, and sadly, people are sinking into the influencer world trap. I keep everything in my pantry in its original boxes because I need to know the expiration dates.
The Struggle of Content Creators
Content creators often struggle to take breaks because our work is intertwined with constant online presence and brand collaborations. The exhaustion from this relentless cycle can make us feel trapped, unable to log off and care for ourselves. Maybe it is me; I am growing and finding joy offline and living my authentic life with real people, the community that loves me for who I am, and I don’t have to perform.
Embracing Liberation and Freedom
During my break, I experienced a profound sense of liberation. The freedom from being tethered to my phone and the ability to focus on what truly mattered was incredibly empowering. Throughout this period, I had three fantastic meetings with brands that supported my decision to log off and take a mental break. Moving forward, I will only work with brands that align with my values and respect my need to disconnect from social media. My content will focus more on personal experiences, nature, and mental health rather than constant brand collaborations.
Announcement: Turtle Fur’s Summer Collection
I’m thrilled to announce that Turtle Fur has launched its summer collection, and I will continue to support and promote it because its mission resonates with mine.
The Impact of the Break
While I’m not entirely back online, this break has been a game-changer. The feeling of waking up without reaching for my phone is incredibly refreshing. I’m embracing minimalism and staying off social media. But don’t worry; I’ll keep you updated on my website with weekly hikes and family events; stay tuned for exciting updates on upcoming international expeditions!
Taking this mental health break has had a profoundly positive impact on my life. It has recharged my spirit and renewed my passion. Everyone should consider taking similar steps to focus on what truly matters. Let’s continue to connect and engage in meaningful ways as we move forward together.
