The best time to start was last year. The second best time is this week.
Hi friends,
Here is my challenge for you this week: do one thing you keep postponing. Sign up for the class you have been eyeing since January. Say yes to the group walk you keep scrolling past. Try something new, even if you are nervous. Nobody ever finished a walk and wished they had stayed on the couch.
I have spent the past ten years helping women find their footing out in nature, and I have watched so many families witness their children take their very first steps on a trail. That work has never stopped meaning something to me.
But life happens. And sometimes you realize you have been iced out. I have been there. When that happened to me, the one thing that never left my side was nature. It took me ten years to fully understand something simple. Nature is my best friend. When I am sad, I step outside. When I am lonely, I step outside. When I am excited and need to share it with someone, I step outside. Nature has never once failed to meet me where I am, and I have learned it is the best medicine I have ever found.
Here is what I know for certain. Nobody is meant to walk this life alone. Not the hard seasons, not the ordinary Tuesdays, none of it. Everybody needs a community, whether you are the kind of person who has never hiked a day in your life or someone who has been quietly wishing she had people to do this with. I know it is not easy to walk up to a group that has already been together for years. I know the first step feels like the hardest one. But I have watched that one decision, just showing up once, change a woman’s whole year. Her confidence. Her friendships. The way she sees herself.
I have yet to hear from a single woman who came to one of our hikes and left feeling awful, disappointed, or sad. Not once. That tells me everything I need to know about what happens when you show up.
So if you have been sitting on the sidelines wondering if you belong here, this is me telling you that you do. Read this whole newsletter. Come on a hike. Say yes to the thing you have been putting off. You deserve people who will walk beside you on the good days and the dark ones. That is exactly what we are building here, one week at a time.

Take a Fall Getaway (No Flight Required)

Families, this is your permission slip for a getaway! You don’t need to break the bank or hop on a plane to have a great time. Fall is the perfect season for camping in Wisconsin. Picture waking up at a waterfront campsite and launching your kayak or canoe right from your site- no driving in and out of the campground, just water at your doorstep. Campgrounds are less crowded this time of year, the air is crisp, and the autumn colors do most of the work. It’s the kind of slow, unplugged time that actually brings a family closer. Wisconsin has no shortage of adventure waiting. Don’t let “next year” hold you back. This is your season.
Some of our favorite waterfront spots: Franklin Lake, Brunet Island, Buckhorn, Peninsula, and Big Bay State Park. Pick one, pack the car, and go.
Know Before You Go: Hunting Season Is Here

Hunting season is in full swing in Wisconsin, and you would be shocked at how many state parks allow hunting. If you are new to Wisconsin trails, talk to someone and check the park’s rules before you head out.
Always wear blaze orange. I mean enough that you can be spotted from a distance. Be seen.
Hiking with your dog? Practice Leave No Trace and pick up after them every time. Leaving dog poop on the trail is rude, and the next person has to walk past it.
Why I Created the Wisconsin State Parks Scratch Off Poster
Wisconsin has 50 state parks, and I have visited every one. Most people can name only a handful, and I wanted to change that. Each park is a scratch-off square, so every visit becomes a small victory you can see on your wall. It is for the family that keeps saying “we should get out more,” the newcomer learning Wisconsin, and anyone who needs a reason to explore beyond their usual spots. If you are curious about our parks, this is your starting line. Get your poster here.
Fall Fun at Warmbelly Farm

We have enjoyed the fall festivities at Warmbelly Farm over the past few years, and they are now open with plenty to see and do for the whole family. Visit their website and buy your pass in advance to save yourself the wait. Our favorite has always been friday evenings after a long week; they have live music and unlimited entertainment for children. Highly recommend this farm for the parents who want to sit back and let the children run wild and free; it’s safe here and worth every penny. The highlight from 2025 was me learning to line dance with my friends; it was a great night, so this farm is not only for families; everyone can go and have a blast.
Are you joining us Oct 23-25 in Marinette County?
We made the reservation. Now it’s your turn to say yes.
Join us for a weekend of waterfalls, laughter, and adventurous women. Tents, car camping, or hammocks- however you camp, you’re welcome. Yes, it’s colder up north this time of year. That’s exactly the point. We’ll be hiking to at least 15 waterfalls that weekend, so if you’ve never heard of Wisconsin’s waterfalls, this is your sign. Dogs welcome on a leash.
Email me for the location, pack your car, and meet us Friday evening. We head home Sunday. Easy.
Can’t make it? Grab the full guide I put together and explore Marinette County on your own.
